My friend recommended Dr Leventhal so I made an appointment based on what she said about him ....he's meticulous, detail-oriented, and patient. That was good enough to get me to his door. In addition to what my friend said, I found that he explained his findings in detail and clearly laid out a treatment plan. He even has a sense of humor. He checked all boxes.
But the unexpected 'bonus' of my appointment was meeting Dr L's staff. He sure knows how to pick them! The front desk people were welcoming. The surgery scheduler was very kind, patient, and thorough. She took a good amount of time explaining the four weeks of preparation as well as the post-op schedule. She even helped me set up an alarm on my phone to remind me to apply eye meds 4 X day.
The person who administered the field of vision test was a very warm and kind bundle of positivity and encouragement. In fact, I was sad the test was over since I wanted to spend more time in his presence and soak in his goodness.
In my 77 years I have only looked forward to going to two doctors, but now I have three.

Recently had Light Adjustable Lens cataract surgery with Dr. Leventhal and had an excellent experience. He took the time to address my concerns and was very patient and understanding with me. His staff was also very supportive and professional. I highly recommend Berkeley Heights Eye Group and Dr. Leventhal.

Dr. Leventhal is great! So knowledgeable and easy to talk to. We saw him a couple of years ago for the first time and waited for more than a year for second annual check up. Totally worth the wait.

Easy entrance into office, friendly, courteous staff, took me a few minutes early. The technician was thorough and explained each test. Dr. L. was prompt, reviewed my test results, and explained current state of my eyes. He removed a cataract from my right eye last June. He was recommended to me through Wills Eye in PA when I was moving back to NJ. Very happy with him, would recommend.

Dr. Leventhal has been my ophthalmologist for about 20 years. He runs his office efficiently, and most importantly, his exams are thorough. He doesn’t rush through, and instead communicates clearly and completely. I have complete confidence in him, and he’s also a very nice guy. Refreshing in a world where medicine is often wham, bam, thank you ma’am.
